Impartiality Statement
TIS understands the importance of impartiality and potential conflicts of interests in carrying out its management system certification activities. TIS commits that all its certification activities are undertaken impartially, and the maintenance of impartiality is a key priority at all levels within TIS.
TIS applies its policies and procedures in a non-discriminatory way, and its services are available to anyone who seeks certification activities that are within its defined scope of activities. TIS certification decisions are based on objective evidence of conformity, or nonconformity, and are not influenced by other interests or by other parties.
The impartiality and objectivity of the certification services that TIS provides is tightly controlled. All TIS internal and external personnel are required to commit to confidentiality and impartiality, and are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest.
TIS does not provide internal audits to its certified clients, nor does it certify a management system on which it provided internal audits or consultancy in the past two years.
TIS evaluates potential risks to its impartiality on an on-going basis through internal audits and management reviews, and by consultation with interested parties. Where risks are identified, TIS uses appropriate measures to eliminate or minimize them.
Customers or interested parties who have concerns regarding TIS impartiality may use our complaint and appeal procedures for resolution.
